Louisville Notes, Quotes

SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: The Cardinals are running the ball well, and the passing game isn't terrible, but neither system is making big plays and the offense as a whole makes too many mistakes to overcome that most weeks. If Louisville can stop beating itself with turnovers and penalties, it has a chance to put up the points it needs to beat Rutgers.

SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: With the secondary banged up, a lot of pressure falls on the Cardinals' linebackers. They'll need to cover tight when assigned that role, and put pressure on the quarterback to keep Mike Teel from having all day to pick out the open receivers. And tackling will be key for everyone -- give Kenny Britt a weak attempt at an arm tackle and he'll race right past it straight into the end zone.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I do think it's valuable for us to be on national television. Anytime you can put your brand on national television, you're never going to turn it down." -- Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe told the Louisville Courier-Journal, on this week's nationally-televised matchup.
